Fresh from the Chicago Comedy Film Festival comes The Yank, the feature length movie debut of director Sean Lackey. The film sees an Irish-American man (played by Lackey himself) on what he sees as a pilgrimage of sorts as he travels to Ireland for Saint Patrick’s Day in search of his Irish heritage as well as that legendary thing we like to call ‘the craic’ (to outsiders it’s actually a pretty strange concept). Of course, when he gets there he quickly finds out that Ireland isn’t quite what he was expecting – there isn’t a thatched cottage in sight!
